UNWIND EATS · GOOD TO KNOW

Salmon and long-chain omega-3 fats

Salmon is one of the best dietary sources of DHA and EPA, which are also important during breastfeeding.[2]

Step by step

Method

  1. 1

    Prepare the salmon

Pat the salmon dry, season it with salt and pepper, then brush it with olive oil.

  2. 2

    Cook the salmon

Cook it in a hot frying pan for approximately 3–4 minutes on each side, so that it remains juicy in the centre.

  3. 3

    Prepare the courgette noodles

Briefly blanch the courgette noodles or sauté them in a dry frying pan for 1–2 minutes.

  4. 4

    Mix the dressing

Mix the Greek yoghurt, tamari, ginger, garlic and lime juice in a small bowl.

  5. 5

    Arrange the vegetables

Arrange the courgette noodles, cucumber, sprouts and avocado on a plate.

  6. 6

    Finish and serve

Add the cooked salmon, spoon over the yoghurt dressing and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

The role of each ingredient

Why these ingredients?

◐

Salmon

Provides omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D and high-quality protein.

🌿

Avocado

Increases satiety and adds potassium and healthy fats.

◇

Ginger and lime

Freshen the dish and enhance the flavour of the fish.

Tips and substitutions

Adapt the recipe

  • Do not overcook the salmon, so that it remains juicy.
  • For a more pronounced flavour, add a little fresh dill.
  • You can lightly toast the sesame seeds before using them.
  • Add the sprouts just before serving.
  • Salt the salmon just before cooking and pat it thoroughly dry. Salt on a damp surface quickly draws out additional moisture and makes browning more difficult.
  • Freeze the ginger for the dressing and grate it while still frozen. This creates very fine pieces without fibrous fragments.

Allergens and storage

  • sesame
  • soya (tamari)
